After all the bickering like children about raising the debt ceiling, now we're on to the blame game. Both parties are blaming the other for the time wasted trying to come to some sort of agreement on where they should cut spending. The answer is not from Social Security or Medicare where all persons who work contribute their hard earned money, but should be cut from the expenses of Congress. After looking through their expense reports for the period from January 1, 2011 until March 30, 2011, I couldn't believe my eyes, I must need stronger glasses. No, it was true the expense total for that period was approximately $315 billion dollars for just three months. This includes approximately $1.4 million for John Boehner's Representative Allowance and that doesn't include the approximately $2,000 cash that is paid directly to him, the biggest troublemaker throughout the debt talks. Also included are staffing , supplies, and expenses for a Child care center for their children and an Attending physician staff, supplies, and expenses. I hope they are at least doing drug screening on the entire staff. They also expense out their automobile leases, and I doubt these cars are Toyota's. There was also approximately $1.6 million to pay student loans off for staff, food and beverage expenses, transit benefits, travel expenses, and something called habitation expenses, which I guess means the government also pays rent for some personnel. A good portion of the expenses were charges to Miscellaneous Other Services. Then I saw monies paid to USPS for mass mailings, which doesn't surprise me, because the politicians need to send out literature. What did shock me was that Ex-Representative Anthony Weiner had mass mailings totaling Approximately $13,000, I sure hope he kept his pants on for that one I say to the president, cut the spending here! And to these members who already get unbelievable salaries, I say pay for your own car, pay back your own student loans, go to a private doctor, pay your own babysitter, pay for your own place to stay, and bring your own lunch and if you get thirsty use the water fountain down the hall.
